Axminster Town Under 10s travelled to Salwayash to play Bridport in a friendly for their first 9 versus 9 game with offsides producing a good overall performance.

The boys started slow for the first 15 minutes until they found their groove, thereafter the coaches and parents saw some lovely football, the larger pitch suiting their play, with some nice wide passing, one-twos and through balls keeping the Bridport midfield and defence busy.

Ax created some good chances which the boys took, knocking in a number of goals before half time.

The second half was even better, some great movement on and off the ball, adding more goals. Considering it was their first match playing offside they only got caught twice the whole game.

The boys continued to press quickly and kept reducing the angles, this meant Bridport struggled to get out of their own half with more chances being taken.

When Bridport did counter attack the Tigers defence coped well, using the keeper to reset and start our attack again.

The coaches can see good improvements now the Under 10s are playing on weekly basis, both in training and in matches.

The parents' man-of-the-match was Oscar Matthews awarded for his great work rate and for scoring four goals in a final scoreline of 14-2.

The Under 10s have another friendly arranged away to Feniton next Saturday.
