A Division East North Devon 1st v Seaton 1st
Seaton 1st travelled to North Devon for their first match of the season and were set a daunting task after losing the toss and having to field. North Devon set them a challenging total to chase, hitting 300 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 50 overs. They had 151 on the board before losing a wicket with opener Dan Bowser hitting 90. Ben Howe (55) Tom Popham (48) and Jack Moore (40) gave the Seaton bowlers a busy afternoon. Ben Morgan (2 for 68 off 8 overs) and Raoul East (2 for 58 off 10 overs) toiled hard for their figures. In reply, Seaton made a brave attempt but were 88 runs short with three wickets standing when stumps were drawn. Joel Seward (55), Daley Holmes (45) and Josh Can (43) were the top scorers.North Devon 18 points; Seaton 7 points
B Division
Bovey Tracey 2nds v Kilmington 1sts
Kilmington 1sts got their season off to a good start, beating the Bovey Tracey second X1 by 77 runs.
The home team won the toss and elected to field but they found the Kilmington batsmen in uncompromising form.
Opener Tom Gooding set the pace with a fine knock of 69, including 13 fours, but the hero of the afternoon was Billy Reed who carried his bat for a brilliant 113, including 15 fours and three sixes.
Chasing a Seaton total of 216 for 5, Bovey never got anywhere near the run rate and were all out for 139 in 23.3 overs.
Seaton bowling honours were shared by Tim Boniface (3 for 20), Tom Gooding (2-1 off 3 overs), Robert Crabb (2 for 18) and Matt Reed (3-31).

D Division East Sidmouth 3rds v Uplyme & Lyme Regis
Last season's Tier 5 mini-league champions Uplyme and Lyme Regis sent out a strong message to the D Division East opponents with a commanding eight-wicket victory over Sidmouth 3rds, played at Newton Poppleford. With several new players in their line-up, Uplyme won the toss and put Sidmouth 3rds into bat, skirling them out for just 66 in 23 overs. The only batsmen to put up any real resistance was Tom Clay who made 44. Newcomer Andrew Harrison looked the most dangerous with the ball, finishing with figures of 3 for 7 off four overs. Another new signing, Gareth Stoneman, Tyler Wellman and Steve Batey all took two apiece. Uplyme knocked off the required runs in 15 overs with Steve Batey (23) and Tyler Wellman (15) top scoring.Sidmouth 3rds 2 points, Uplyme & Lyme Regis 20 Points
Chardstock v North Devon 2nds
Chardstock also started the season in good form with a 20-point haul at home to North Devon 2nds. The East Devon villagers won the toss and elected to bat and got off to a good start with opening Gary Larcombe, scoring 72. Robbie Hutchings (41) and Richard Pyman (34) helped the score along to 232 all out. Chardstock looked very lively in the field with veteran Stuart Parris taking three catches. In reply, North Devon were all out for 144 with the wickets being shared by Gary Larcombe (3 for 29 off nine), Alex Watson (3 for 42 off nine) and Richard Pyman (2 for 27 off nine).Chardstock 20 points, North Devon 2nds 8 points
E Division East
Topsham v Axminster Town
Rain forced the abandonment of Axminster Town's away game at Topsham where just ten overs were bowled.
Axminster put in the home side to bat with just 37 runs on the board when rain stopped play.
Topsham 6 points, Axminster Town 6 points
F Division East Seaton 2nds v Cullompton 2nds
Seaton's opening home match was also abandoned due to the rain with the visitors batting first and reaching 161 for 2 off of 30 overs. Top scorer for Cullompton was Adam Monkley with and undefeated 44.Seaton 2nds 7 points, Cullomnpton 2nds 10 points
G Division East
Kilmington 2nds v Woodbury & Newton St Cyres
Kilmington 2nds got off to a corking start to the new season with a nine-wicket victory over Woodbury & Newton St Cyres.
Kilmington won the toss and decided to put the visitors in to bat. The first three wickets went cheaply but the middle order steadied the ship with Andy Cork top scoring on 29 in Woodbury's total of 147 for 9 off the allotted 40 overs.
Key bowler for Kilmington was Dean Wills taking 3 for 27 off 8 overs with James Lambert also grabbing a couple of wickets for the loss of 22 off seven.
In chasing 147 to win the game, Kilmington only loss one wicket (Dave Cook 44), and it was left to the other cook boys – Hal 76 and Ralph 19 – to see them through.
