Marion Cochrane MBE, 1928-2022

Marion was a practising Christian, dedicating her life to her family, the Church and to people with leprosy in India, Bangladesh and Nepal – among the poorest and most marginalised people on earth. Her amazing achievements on their behalf, together with her husband Ian Cochrane are proudly commemorated by her family. One of their great achievements was increasingly to integrate the treatment of leprosy into mainstream health care rather than being a stigmatised, 'untouchable' disease. They were both awarded MBEs at Buckingham Palace in 1993 in recognition of this. A full life, long and well lived, and dedicated to service. Much loved, much missed and much admired. Thanksgiving Service at The Beacon Baptist Church, Kilmington, on Saturday 19 February 2022 at 11am – all are welcome. Donations to The Leprosy Mission and Nepal Leprosy Trust. Further details from JF Clarke & Son, Funeral Directors, Axminster, 01297 32686.
