With no revenue coming in during lockdown, Axminster Town Football Club is launching a new fundraising initiative.

Football is not expected to return to Tiger Way for several weeks with no indication when games will not be able to start again but running costs are still incurred.

The number of coronavirus cases confirmed across Devon and Cornwall fell by a quarter last week to the lowest level since the start of December.

A total of 1,169 new cases were confirmed last week, compared to 1,547 the previous week, with the total case numbers for the two counties now standing at 44,104 - the lowest for nine weeks.

COUNCILS across England have today been allocated their share of £500million for highways maintenance, with the South West receiving the largest amount.

South West councils have been allocated £90,031,000 of the £500million funding, which is expected to fix the equivalent of 10 million potholes across the country.

Axminster fire crew were called to alarms sounding at a domestic property in Heals Field on Friday night.

The crew were called our at 11.46pm and, on gaining access to the property, found the cause of the alarm was unattended cooking burning in the kitchen.
