ELLIS, ROSEMARY - Rosemarie passed away peacefully in hospital on April 18 2021, aged 88 years. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Devon and Cornwall recorded its lowest daily number of coronavirus cases over the weekend, ahead of restrictions further easing today (Monday).

Saturday saw 14 new cases reported in the two counties confirmed, this later dropping to 13 as a false positive in Mid Devon was removed, and Sunday saw 13 new cases confirmed, this also being reduced to 12 as a previous positive in Torbay was removed.

Conservative candidate Ian Hall has been returned as the Devon county councillor for Axminster with a majority vote of 1,672.

He beat Independent East Devon Alliance candidate and East Devon district councillor Paul Hayward, who came second place with 1,439.

The Conservatives have retained the control of Devon County Council for another for years, but with a slightly reduced majority.

Under John Hart's leadership, the Tories have held control of the council since 2009, and Thursday's local elections saw them stretch that reign until 2025.
