A few brave souls turned out in Axminster in atrocious weather on Saturday to acknowledge 100 years since the first wreath was laid at The Cenotaph by Earl Haig marking the formation of the Royal British Legion.

Interestingly, Earl Haig's granddaughter, Sarah Lopes, is intending to be present at the Axminster branch centenary in July. She is currently RBL Devon County President.

JENKIN, RANDOLPH - Randolph (Randy) passed away peacefully at home in Devon on May 10 2021, aged 75 years. Formerly of Randolphs Farm, Hurstpierpoint.

ELLIS, ROSEMARY - Rosemarie passed away peacefully in hospital on April 18 2021, aged 88 years. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has allowed stage three of his roadmap out ofd lockdown to go ahead today as planned

Devon and Cornwall recorded its lowest daily number of coronavirus cases over the weekend, ahead of restrictions further easing today (Monday).

Saturday saw 14 new cases reported in the two counties confirmed, this later dropping to 13 as a false positive in Mid Devon was removed, and Sunday saw 13 new cases confirmed, this also being reduced to 12 as a previous positive in Torbay was removed.
