Get your weekend off to a toe-tapping start
The Community Waffle House in Axminster welcomes La Vie En Rose for a free night of live music on Friday, January 20.
The South West's favourite gypsy jazz and hot swing band has a well-earned reputation for its take on the 'Hot Club' style. Toe-tapping rhythms and soaring melodies combine in a virtuoso performance of gypsy favourites, jazz standards, soulful ballads and Latin swing, all played with the verve and joy that is the heart of this music.
Help clean up your community
Plastic Free Axminster invite you to a community litter pick on Saturday, January 21, meeting at 9.15am outside The Old Courthouse in Church Street.
Please wear old clothes and suitable footwear. Equipment is provided and refreshments afterwards. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
And don't forget our rivers too!
Chardstock Eco Group hosts their River Cafe at Chardstock Village Hall from 10am on Saturday, January 21.
A morning of river-related fun and information, free trees giveaway, nature table, river water monitoring, citizen science activities, fish and other critters who live in the river. Warmth, friendliness and a free cuppa and homemade cake, while learning about the Kit Brook River Restoration Project.
