Devon and Cornwall Police are urging motorists not to panic buy fuel, as long queues are seen at petrol stations across the county.
Nub News captured this video of motorists queueing up to top up their tanks at the Esso Tower Services filling station in Seaton, where there's a sign informing them that they must limit their purchase to £15.00 worth of any grade of fuel.
Esso, BP and Tesco petrol stations have had problems getting fuel deliveries because of the shortage of HGV drivers.
BP said a small number of its forecourts were closed and some sites have run out of at least one grade of fuel.
A small number of Tesco's petrol forecourts have run out of at least one grade of fuel, including in Seaton, according to ExxonMobil which runs the sites.
Today (Saturday, September 25) Devon and Cornwall Police posted on Twitter: "The current situation will not impact on the service Devon and Cornwall Police provides to our communities. We are calling for the public to behave sensibly and not panic buy."
Meanwhile the Government is due to announce tomorrow how it plans to tackle the shortage of HGV drivers.
Ministers are expected to announce details of a temporary visa scheme to allow foreign HGV drivers to work in the UK.
