The organisation boosting the profile of Axminster's trading community is wasting no time in making sure that empty shops in the town do not give the impression of a run-down high street.
Totally Locally Axminster, in an effort to overcome the "depressing sight" of empty shop windows, took another leap forward when they tackled the former McColls newsagents shop.
Writing on social media, Totally Locally Axminster organiser Barrie Hedges said credit goes to Ian Crawford and also to local window cleaner Dan Shakespeare who kindly tackled the outsides for them.
He said: "Huge thanks also to the East Devon-based owners of the property for giving us the use of the windows. The display panels are those from our good friends at Axminster Heritage Centre that previously appeared in Trinity House.
"There's more coming on this campaign to turn negatives into positives."
Later, Mr Hedges said: "Thanks so much to everyone who responded enthusiastically to our post re the windows at the former McColls.
"We have also done a similar job at the former Labels For Less premises using the 'What's Great About Axminster' panels.
"It does you good to remind yourself that there is much that really is special. A big thank you to Shane Morgan for so kindly allowing us the use of these windows. And our gratitude once again to Ian Crawford for doing the work."
