Three more independent businesses in the Axminster area have received their Plastic Free Champion awards.

The Community Waffle House, Axminster Heritage Centre and The Folly Nursery in Dalwood all received the award after significantly cutting down on the single-use plastic items they use.

Kay Pike of Plastic Free Axminster said: "Congratulations to them for being committed to eliminate single-use plastic from their premises and pledging to continue this work. They join Reflections Hair and Beauty and the Flamingo Pool who have already received their award."

Using the charity Surfers Against Sewage's business toolkit to start their journey, almost 700 businesses across the country have now achieved the Plastic Free Champion award, with hundreds more working towards it.
