9th Feb 2022 | Local News

Nub News wants to pay tribute to the local people who have made Axminster such a warm and caring community.

So, we have joined with respected funeral directors W. G. Potter and J.F. Clarke & Son to offer our pages as a dignified platform for your obituaries and death notices.

Our announcements include details of funeral services and how memorial donations can be made. They also tell the people of Axminster where they can offer personal prayers and tributes.

When you are bereaved, we know how important it is for you to have a sensitive and secure place to tell friends and relatives that your loved one has passed away.

We hope Nub News – at the heart of your community – is able to help.

COCHRANE, MARION MBE

Marion was a practising Christian, dedicating her life to her family, the church and to people with leprosy in India, Bangladesh and Nepal – among the poorest and most marginalised people on earth. Her amazing achievements on their behalf, together with her husband Ian Cochrane, are proudly commemorated by her family.

One of their great achievements was increasingly to integrate the treatment of leprosy into mainstream health care rather than being a stigmatised, 'untouchable' disease. They were both awarded MBEs at Buckingham Palace in 1993 in recognition of this.

Thanksgiving service at The Beacon Baptist Church, Kilmington, on Saturday, February 19 at 11am – all are welcome and donations can be made to The Leprosy Mission and Nepal Leprosy Trust.
