The Crafty Hobbit has become the second shop to open in the revamped Trinity House building in Axminster town centre.

Keen crafters Sarah and Terry Webb have taken the plunge in opening a new shop, having run an online craft and printing business from home for some time.

Building on their own interests and passions, Sarah and Terry have created a one-stop-shop for gifts and crafting.

The Crafty Hobbit offers a wide range of gifts and homeware to suit all tastes and budgets, as well a selection of high-quality craft supplies.

There is also a 'rent-a-shelf' section where local artists and craftspeople can rent space to display and sell their work. And Sarah and Terry can offer completely unique and personalised gifts, printing on everything from mugs and magnets to bags and T-shirts.

The new shop opened today (Thursday) to great local reaction. It follows women's clothing shop Lou La Belle as the second unit to open in Axminster's landmark Trinity House building, which is currently undergoing major renovation by Axminster Property.

Sarah and Terry, are originally from the Axminster area but went on to run a craft shop in Devizes, Wiltshire. Having moved back to the area, they had been looking for a new space for some time and were quick to snap up one of the sought-after units in Trinity House.

They are now delighted with the transformation of the building, describing it as a "beautiful space in a great location".

The Crafty Hobbit will be open Tuesday to Saturday, from about 10am to 4.30pm. The shop will be taking part in the upcoming Fiver Fest - which starts this weekend - offering a Christmas mug and coaster in a selection of designs for just £5.

You can also find them on Facebook at Crafty Hobbit Designs.
