River Cottage HQ at Trinity Hill, near Axminster, will be welcoming the public for its Summer Shindig on Saturday, June 17.

Having held off hosting festival and major events over the past few years during the coronavirus pandemic, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall and the team will once again be opening the farm gates.

A spokesperson for River Cottage said: :It's always been such a joy to welcome you all to the farm and celebrate the season's finest organic food and drink - so we're dipping a toe back into the festival waters this summer and are very excited to be announcing our River Cottage Summer Shindig event - taking place in June!

"We really hope that this one-day event will be a fabulous taster of the festivals you know and love, and if we can measure the appetite for this kind of event now - who knows, perhaps a festival could be on the cards again in future.

"But in the meantime, we'd love your support in seeing as many of you as possible at the farm this summer for our River Cottage Summer Shindig!

At this brand new event, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the River Cottage site at Trinity Hill, with a field set up especially for the Shepherds Hut Stage.

The bar will be fully stocked with organic beers, ciders and spirits as well as soft drinks and the River Cottage chefs will be cooking up a storm over fire, with some fantastic options available to purchase for meat-lovers and veggies alike.

Talented local musicians, including Three Daft Monkeys, and The Royal Ts, will be playing on the Shepherds Hut Stage throughout the evening, performing a mixture of original music and covers, sure to get you dancing.

This outdoor event will go ahead rain or shine, so make sure to dress for the weather and bring your wellies and raincoats.

The Summer Shindig will be held from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday, June 17 and tickets are now available at https://www.rivercottage.net/dining-and-events/river-cottage-summer-shindig

This event is recommended for the ages of 12 and over, with those under 18 having to be accompanied by an adult, but limited tickets for younger children will also be available on a first come, first served basis.

This is not a dog friendly event as it will be held on a working farm.
