Plastic Free Axminster organises story and craft session for children

Children enjoyed a half term story and craft session at Axminster Library, teaching them about the importance of keeping our oceans clear of litter.

In an event organised by Plastic Free Axminster, the children listened to a tale about a puffin who gets tangled up in the debris which falls to the ground and into the sea, following a balloon release.

The children were then invited to make an individual ocean scene and to follow a trail to find a number of sea creatures hidden in the library .

Plastic Free Axminster's team of litter pickers have also been out and about in force this week, cleaning up the local community.

They said that a cup of tea and slice of cake is always welcome after a litter-picking session, this week provided by Axminster Community Cafe in Pippins Community Centre.
