Axminster Heritage Centre will be opening its summer season with a temporary exhibition 'Spinning a Yarn: The story of Sheep and Axminster' on Saturday, April 16.
The exhibition will show how sheep and wool have played their part in the development of Axminster and the surrounding areas since the Iron Age.
It is being launched on Saturday, April 16 with sheep shearing taking place in the heritage centre's courtyard.
There will also be a lamb and a ram for people to pet and a range of workshops, activities and talks will be accompanying the exhibition. These will also announced on the website www.axminsterheritage.org, as well as on Facebook and in the heritage centre members' newsletter.
From April 16, Axminster Heritage Centre's opening hours will Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and Saturday 10am to 1pm. Entrance is £4 but it is free for 16 and under and to all residents with an EX13 postcode on the last Saturday of each month.
If you would like to join the volunteer team at the heritage centre, pop in for a chat or email [email protected].
