Pippins Community Centre in Axminster has reached its crowdfunding appeal target - with two days to go.

It was announced on social media that donations, along with match funding grants from Devon County Council and East Devon District Council, had exceeded their £7,000 appeal target .

The money raised will be used to paint the community centre building and make essential repairs.

A statement said: "Thank you so much to our friends and the people of Axminster (and beyond) who have helped support this appeal, to East Devon District Council and Devon County Council for match funding the project, and a special thanks to the team at Bradfords Building Supplies for their support.

"This means the world to us and will help us to ensure our building is kept safe, smart, welcoming and secure for the years to come."
