A person had to be released from a car after it crashed into a bank and flipped over.

Fire crews from Axminster and Charmouth - along with a supporting officer - were called by the police just after 2.20pm, reporting that two people in the car were trapped.

A spokesman for Axminster Fire Station said: "Once on scene, crews confirmed a single vehicle road traffic collision with one occupant clear of the vehicle and the other trapped due to being unable to undo their seatbelt.

"Crews got to work using stabilisation equipment and small tools to assist the second person from the vehicle.

"Both the persons from the vehicle were left in the hands of the ambulance service, our crews returned home to station at 3.29pm."
