Axminster Carnival Committee received a donation from local businessman Jack Price, of The Railway Kitchen, at its latest meeting.

Jack, who runs the business on the platform of Axminster station, has hosted various fundraising events in aid of the carnival committee in recent months.

He attended the committee's latest meeting where he handed over a cheque to members and was thanked for his hard work and generosity.

Others within the town have also been extremely generous with their time and money in recent months, including Terry Guppy and Billie McGovern, stalwarts at Axminster Town Football Club's bingo night, who ran a special event in aid of carnival.

The Axe Inn also continues to support the carnival committee with a monthly quiz night.

The committee is also planning some fundraising of its own, including the return of the popular Vehicle Extravaganza to be held at Axminster Showground, courtesy of the Borrough family, on June 25 from 10am to 4pm.

If you have a vehicle you wish to display at the event, email [email protected]
