Latest figures show 43 crimes reported in Axminster area in December

Latest police figures have reported that there were 43 recorded crimes in the Axminster area in December 2021.

These figures are a decrease from 69 crimes the previous month (November 2021) and 48 reported during the same month the previous year (December 2020).

From the 43 recorded incidents in December 2021, 31 took place in Axminster Town and 12 in Axminster Rural, which also covers Uplyme, Kilmington, Hawkchurch, Dalwood, Stockland, Chardstock and surrounding areas.

In Axminster Town, crimes included 19 incidents of violence and sexual offences, three of anti-social behaviour, two thefts and seven listed as 'other crimes'.

In Axminster Rural, crimes included seven incidents of violence and sexual offences, three of anti-social behaviour, one burglary, and one listed as 'other crime'.

Crime figures for January 2021 have not yet been released.
