Latest figures show 37 crimes in Axminster area in January

The latest crime figures released by police show there were 37 crimes in the wider Axminster area during January 2021.

These figures compares to 48 crimes the previous month and 49 during the same month in the previous year.

From the 37 recorded incidents in January 2021, 18 took place in Axminster Town and 19 in Axminster Rural, which also covers Uplyme, Kilmington, Hawkchurch, Dalwood, Stockland, Chardstock and surrounding areas.

In Axminster Town, crimes included six incidents of anti-social behaviour, six of violence and sexual offences, two of criminal damage and arson, and four listed as 'other crimes'.

In Axminster Rural, crimes included nine incidents of violence and sexual offences, three of anti-social behaviour, three thefts, and four 'other crimes'.

Of these, four took place in Uplyme and Trinity Hill, four in the Raymonds Hill area, three in Musbury, two in Chardstock, two near Membury, one in Whitford, one in Kilmington, one in Wilmington and one near Ham.

Crime figures for February 2021 have not yet been released.
