Train services between Axminster and Exeter have been cancelled due to a landslip

A landslip in Honiton has halted all rail services between Axminster and Exeter today (Monday).

The landslip occurred near to Honiton train station and is affecting the train track.

Disruption is expected to continue until the end of Tuesday, with services from London Waterloo stopping at Axminster and no trains between Axminster and Exeter.

Tickets will instead be accepted on the GWR services between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids, Reading and Basingstoke, and Salisbury and Westbury; the London Underground between Paddington and Waterloo; and Stagecoach routes 4, 9 and 44 between Axminster and Honiton.

Due to industrial action, train services will finish earlier than usual on some of these alternative routes.

South Western Railway (SWR) says it is in the process of arranging replacement road transport between Axminster and Exeter Central.

If you are planning to travel between Axminster and Exeter Central, you can source your own taxi between these stations and claim back from the SWR via the website www.southwesternrailway.com/contact-and-help/train-ticket-refunds

Tickets dated for today between theses stations can also be used on Tuesday.
