Football Club bingo raises £1,556 for Flamingo Pool crisis fund

Axminster Town Football Club hosted a sell-out bingo evening, organised by Sharon Clarke, raising £1,556 for the Flamingo Pool.
The Axe Valley Swimming Association, the charity that runs the pool, has to raise a quarter of a million pounds in the next three years to finance the installation of renewable and sustainable energy sources and improvements to the efficiency and existing plant and buildings, so that the pool can be run efficiently, economically and with less pollution to the environment.
Prizes donated by a number of local business and supporters included Safar, Swish & Flick, Oliver Joseph, Reflections, Millers Farm Shop, Sarah Baulch, Neals Yard, Becky Lippet - scentology and Lyme Regis Kayak Hire, Tesco's Axminster, Lyme Bay Butchers and MacSorsons Fish Shop.
There were also a a huge amount of community donations, including an impressive hamper donated by the staff of St Mary's Catholic Primary School.
A spokesperson for the association thanked all those who gave so generously and those who attended the event.
