There is currently some flooding in the Weycroft area of Axminster following 24 hours of heavy rain.

The flood warning is currently in place for the River Axe from Winsham to Axminster, including Chard Junction and Weycroft.

Heavy rain falling across the East Devon area over the past 24 hours has caused the River Axe to rise rapidly and flooding of property was expected.

Riverside locations and roads between Winsham and Axminster, including Chard Junction, Coaxden Cottages and Weycroft are the most affected.

Residents are advised to be aware of their local surroundings, do not walk or drive through flood water, and avoid low lying roads and footpaths, which may be flooded.
