Fire crew called out as unattended cooking sets off alarms

Axminster fire crew were called to alarms sounding at a domestic property in Heals Field on Friday night.

The crew were called our at 11.46pm and, on gaining access to the property, found the cause of the alarm was unattended cooking burning in the kitchen.

The crew offered safety advice to the occupant before returning to station.

A spokesperson said: "Remember to always test you smoke alarms at least once a month to ensure they are working correctly, and please never leave cooking unattended."
