A35 cleared after three-vehicle collision at Shute

The A35 has reopened following a collision earlier this afternoon (Monday) between Shute and Kilmington area, near Axminster.

The accident took place between Kilmington Cross and Shute Road just after midday within and caused heavy delays and congestion in the surrounding lanes.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the A35 near Axminster at around 12.10pm today (6 December).

"One man was reported to have a possible injury which was not being treated as life threatening or changing.

"The road was cleared at around 4pm."
