Crews called to Axminster tumble dryer fire

Local crews were called to a tumble dryer fire in a commercial premises in South Street, Axminster, on Tuesday afternoon.
Axminster, Colyton and Lyme Regis fire crews attended the incident at 3.49pm, along with the aerial ladder platform from Taunton Fire Station.
The fire was confined to a gas tumble dryer which was 50% damaged by fire and there was 25% damage to the property.
To deal with the incident crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a thermal image camera, a safety jet and a gas monitor.
One man suffered smoke inhalation and was checked over by ambulance crews.
