Christmas is coming, and while it won't be the same this year, one thing that won't change is disruption to bin collections.

The Bank Holidays can create chaos with residents not knowing when to leave their rubbish out.

But fear not, we've done the hard work so you won't have to – here's everything you need to know about the Bank Holiday waste and recycling collections.

In East Devon, bin collections will take place as normal on Christmas Eve. No bins will be collected on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Collections will take place at a later date until the week of January 18. See below a list of the usual collection days and their replacement collections dates for the Christmas and New Year period:

Thursday, December 24 - no change

Friday, December 25 - now Tuesday, December 29

Monday, December 28 - now Wednesday, December 30

Tuesday, December 29 - now Thursday, December 31

Wednesday, December 30 - now Saturday, January 2

Thursday, December 31 - now Monday, January 4

Friday, January 1 - now Tuesday, January 5

Green waste collections will be suspended for four weeks between Monday, December 21, and Friday, January 15. Normal fortnightly collections will start again from Monday, January 18.
