Axminster will once again host its historic Cherry Fayre this summer, including the ancient tradition of the Raising of the Glove on Thursday, June 23.

Organised by the Light Up Axminster Committee, events will then continue throughout the week until Friday, July 1, finishing with Axminster's Big Dinner.

The Big Dinner will start in the late afternoon and run until 9pm, with a food market, workshops and activities, a fun fair and lots of music and entertainment.

Based in Trinity Square and on the Church Green, organisers hope it will be a wonderful chance for the community to come together and share good food and company.

They are looking for anyone that would like to have a stall at the food market, run food-based workshops or games, provide live music or those that would just like to get involved.

Anyone that would like to get involved with the week should email [email protected]

Full details of other events are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.
