Axminster Tools has announced the exciting move of the local store from its current location on Trafalgar Way to a new, bigger premises on the Millwey Rise Industrial Estate.

The move is due to take place in early 2023 and is part of a project working alongside local property management company, Axminster Property; investing in the future of Axminster Tools and the Axe Valley.

Once complete, the new shop will be bigger with more interactive space. For customers, this means more opportunities to get hands on and bigger and better in store demonstrations, all for free.

Located next to the Axminster Tools HQ and its state-of-the-art warehouse, customers will no longer have to drive across town to collect larger items and items that are not in stock in store - everything will be available in one place.

Axminster Tools is committed to supporting the local community by providing access to creative skills that promote wellbeing and the preservation of traditional skills, many of which are part of our local heritage.

The new, larger shop will provide the perfect space to engage more groups within the community and inspire people to try something new.

The relocation of the Axminster Tools store provides an exciting rental opportunity in the current space at Trafalgar Way.

Axminster Property will be working with Axminster Tools to manage the switch over between the current premises and the brand new store. They will also be responsible for managing the rental of the Trafalgar Way space.

Winners of the 2022 Independent Business of the Year at the Axminster Business Awards, Axminster Property has been the driving force behind the revival of many of the business spaces in Axminster and the surrounding areas, perhaps most notably the transformation of Trinity House in the centre of town.

The team at Axminster Property transformed a tired building into a high quality home for a series of small, independent, local businesses. These businesses are now thriving, helping the wider Axminster trading community turn an important economic corner.

Berni Callery, retail manager at Axminster Tools said: "Despite operating on a global scale, our Axminster Tools stores remain at the heart of the company.

"The store gives our customers access to inspirational makers, traditional and trusted tools, and friendly, knowledgeable advice from our experts. As much as we can provide all this online through free tutorials and live videos, nothing beats a face to face interaction and an opportunity to get hands on.

"This is an exciting move for us. The new, bigger shop will allow more space to support the local community with getting creative and somewhere we can all share our passion."

Ian Styles, managing director of Axminster Property, added: "We're passionate about investing in projects that benefit our local communities here in the Axe Valley; encouraging new businesses to the area, supporting growth of existing traders and providing more employment opportunities.

"We work with our partners to create long-standing relationships and really understand what their business needs from a property in order to succeed. This has allowed us to support Axminster Tools fully with the relocation of their Axminster retail outlet and we're excited to see this come to fruition in 2023.

"We're now in a position to be able to offer rental opportunities of the existing Trafalgar Way site to any interested parties. Axminster is a vibrant town, home to many successful businesses and we're committed to playing our part in ensuring the longevity of that community that we're proud to be a part of."
