Axminster Rotarians are organising a cash collection to help Ukraine refugees who have fled their country to escape the invasion by Russia.

Rotarians will be collecting in Trinity Square on two successive Thursdays, March 10 and March 17, from 9am to 12.30pm.

They will also be collecting in Tesco, Axminster, on Thursday, March 17 from 9am to 3pm.

A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Axminster said: "A million people have been forced to leave their homes in Ukraine and we want to do our bit in helping refugees, many of whom could be coming to the United Kingdom.

"The people of Axminster are quick to support all good causes and at this time there cannot be a better way to help these unfortunate Ukrainians.

"It's important we do all we can to help this humanitarian crisis."
