Axminster has been shocked by the sudden death of popular former footballer Adam Bounds, aged 41.

Adam grew up in Axminster and was educated at the Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis but lived in Bristol where he worked.

As a youngster Adam played football for Axminster Town and Uplyme FC.

He is the son of Les Bounds, a former chairman at Axminster Town and now a trustee at the Tiger Way complex.

Adam is survived by a brother and a young son, Owen.

Adam was extremely popular in social circles in Axminster and in Lyme Regis, where he had a large circle of friends, and many have paid tribute to his zest for life on social media.

It is believed he died from a brain haemorrhage but a post mortem was required because he recently had a COVID-19 jab.
