Axminster traders are gearing up to host the first of two late-night shopping events in the run up to Christmas.

Shops will be open until 7.30pm tomorrow (Friday), and on Tuesday, December 22, to spread some festive cheer and boost trade at the end of what has been the most challenging year for Axminster's independent businesses.

Christmas music will be played in Trinity Square from 5pm and there will be some socially-distanced, roving carollers to entertain shoppers.

You will also be able to warm up with plenty of food and hot drinks on offer, including the popular Doughboys Woodfired Pizza Co in the Square.

Axminster residents are being encouraged to support their local independent shops, cafes and other businesses in the last few days before Christmas.

A Christmas trail around the town continues until Wednesday, December 23, with the prize draw taking place the following day, promoted by Axminster Locally Totally.

Voucher prizes will then be available to spend with one of the local participating traders until January 31 2021.

All Axminster traders can promote their business for FREE on the Axminster Nub News Local List.
