Axminster fire crew were called to reports of a vehicle on fire in Lyme Road late last night (Thursday).

Having been called at 11.14pm, the crew arrived on scene after responding from their homes in a little over five and a half minutes.

They found one vehicle well alight and got straight to tackling the fire using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.

Crews discontinued using breathing apparatus once the fire was under control and almost fully extinguished. However, they continued to damped down the vehicle from a distance.

They also used Environment Agency Packs to try and contain fuel and oil that was spilling from the vehicle.
