Axminster coffee morning raises more than £400 for Cancer Research UK

A well-supported coffee morning and cake stall raised a total of £422 for Cancer Research UK last week.

Coinciding with election day and the town's weekly market, the coffee morning at the Church Rooms and on the Minster Green welcomed a steady flow of supporters throughout.

The event was organised by Cancer Research UK volunteers in Axminster, with the funds raised donated to the Lyme Regis branch, which is now the closest official branch of the charity.

The branch will be hosting a coffee morning at Lyme Regis Baptist Church on Friday, September 15; and soup and sweet lunch at Woodmead Halls, Lyme Regis, on Saturday, October 14; a quiz and curry night, also at Woodmead Halls, on Friday, November 10; and Christmas bingo, also at Woodmead Halls, on Friday, December 8.
