"A fantastic concert", "a superb evening", "a privilege to have been present" – just some of the audience comments following Axminster and District Choral Society's concert on April 1.

The concert featured the UK première of a St Matthew Passion by C.P.E. Bach, dated 1789, along with other works by this less well known son of the more famous J.S. Bach.

The choir was supported by professional soloists and orchestra, to produce an enjoyable and memorable performance,

Rehearsals for the society's summer concert of opera choruses will begin on April 25 at 7.30pm in the Minster Church, Axminster.
