Axminster Business of The Week: Ric's Kitchen
Every week we will be shining the spotlight on one local business from Axminster Nub News business directory.
Supporting local, independent businesses is one of the core values on Nub News and we aim to promote the 'shop local' message.
If you want to join our business directory for free, simply visit our Local Business page and click the back 'Nub It' button to submit your own business details.
This week we are focussing on Ric's Kitchen, now open in Victoria Place and serving homemade sandwiches, baguettes and light dishes for breakfast and lunch, a full selection of hot drinks and homemade cakes and pastries.
The menu includes gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options, and all food is now available to either eat in or takeaway. Large orders can also be pre-ordered the day before and collected.
The restaurant initially opened in October 2020 in the former premises of Hooper's Cafe in Victoria Place, but despite proving a hit with customers, it closed down in July 2021 due to the cost of living crisis.
Chef and owner Ric Edgell has spent the past six months working in kitchens of other local hospitality businesses, but has now decided to give things another go and reopened this month.
The reopening has been met with a great reaction in Axminster, with Ric hoping that residents will show their support for the independent business, saying the previous closure was an example of the 'use it or lose it' message.
Ric's Kitchen is now open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2.30pm with food served throughout.
