A coffee morning held at the Bradshaw Room in the Axminster Heritage Centre raised £205 for the Royal British Legion.

The Axminster branch supported the event with a stall to promote the aims and objectives of the Legion, decorated with new feather banners, one inside and one outside on the pavement.

Applications forms which Jo Ashkettle, the branch conference delegate, brought back from the last county meeting proved their worth.

Branch chairman Peter Simon welcomed newest member Nick Goodwin, Axminster's town crier, and was also pictured with branch member 'Admiral' David Sharp, who had been advertising the coffee morning around the town market place.

The next meeting will be more of a social event at Axminster Conservative Club on February 23 with the county chairman attending to present the Crediton Cup to Axminster branch for the support they have given to the aims and objectives of the Royal British Legion in 2022.
