Axe Valley Academy were delighted with a fantastic set of GCSE results collected by students this morning.

Headteacher Laura Jenkins said: "We have had the pleasure of working with an extremely dedicated and resilient year group who have worked tirelessly to ensure they achieved the best grades possible. We would like to congratulate every single student on their individual results.

"We are proud of every single student however we would like to celebrate the outstanding performances of Alice Turner and Amber Morgan who both achieved a set of grades that were approximately two grades higher than their targets.

"In addition, Innes Fitzgerald, Florence Rogers, Ellie Carter, Joel Jeffries, and Stephen Johns all achieved some of the highest grades across all subjects with Innes and Florence achieving four 9 grades each.

"Of particular note, is the number of grade 9s that our students achieved which were above their target grades. For our students to perform above expectations like this makes us incredibly proud.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated staff team who have gone to exceptional levels to support our students, our parents who have unwaveringly supported the school and our incredible Year 11 students.

"We wish them every success for the future and look forward to seeing their next steps in their educational journey.

Axe Valley Academy can't wait to show off its school this year. Book a tour as soon as possible and put the date in your diary for its Open Day and Evening on September 22 (day time tours are worth considering). For more details: 01297 32146 www.axevalley.devon.sch.uk
