Almost 350 responses were received to Axminster Town Council's initial consultation on its new Neighbourhood Plan.
The council is currently working on a new Neighbourhood Plan, which will help guide how the town is developed over the coming years.
Residents were asked to share what they believed should be prioritised in Axminster's development during a recent public consultation.
The town council wishes to thank everyone who took the time to complete this initial survey.
Cllr Steve Holt said: "We received 343 responses which has given us a significant steer regarding the needs, views and feeling of the residents and visitors to our town.
"Many respondents took the opportunity to tell us how they felt regarding the wider aspects that were not necessarily covered in the questions themselves.
"All these comments have been reviewed and will be considered when developing the final plan."
The Axminster Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, which comprises councillors from the town, East Devon district and county councils, plus members of the community, will now be collating the data and using it to prepare the priorities for the town over the life of East Devon's Local Plan, which is currently being revised to run to 2040.
They would also like to thank those who provided contact details enabling the group to call upon them to support the more detailed development of the plan.
