All Saints CofE Primary School, near Axminster, celebrated World Book Day last week with the opening of a new library.

Local author Leigh Conley paid a visit to the school to open the library and entice the children into the world of his 'Mischievous Monsters'.

The new library area has been created to inspire a love of reading with cosy rugs and beanbags along with bright displays of wonderful books.

It has been made possible through the dedicated fundraising of the school PTFA.

Andrea Sedgewick, chair of governors for All Saints CofE Primary, said: "It is fantastic to see the children in the new library, reading their books and enjoying the experience."

A spokesperson for the school said: "Leigh was very delighted to open the new library and toured the school and pre-school to share his new 'Mischievous Monsters' book series.

"Leigh has a lovely ability to tell stories and the children were all ears to hear more. Giggles galore could be heard from the classrooms."
