'Pure pub' Axminster Inn back serving food

AFTER many requests from their regular customers, the Axminster Inn has decided to reintroduce its food menu.

Landlords Gary and Karen Needs announced today (Sunday) that after "careful consideration" they had decided to offer " small and simple menu", starting from Thursday of this week.

Gary and Karen have always promoted their establishment as "Purely A Pub". It is Axminster's only Cask Marque Accredited Pub with a rating of "excellent", having been included in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide with Master Cellarman awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The Ax Inn was placed third out of more than 600 pubs in the CAMRA beer scoring system and third in the Exeter and East Devon CAMRA Members Choice Pub.

The Axminster Inn has also been awarded the Palmer's Brewery Master Cellarman of the Year Award for the third year in a row, scoring 100 per cent.

Gary and Karen said they were honoured to accept this award for all the team at the Ax as "we strive to make every pint the perfect pint".

Food will now be available at the Axminster Inn Thursday to Saturday, 12 noon to 3 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm with their popular fish and chips on Friday nights, typical pub grub and prices ranging from £5.95 to £8.95 for main dishes. There is also a children's menu at £4.50.

Bookings are advised and a takeaway service will also be available. All current health and safety guidelines will be observed, with numbers being restricted to six per table. No children (under18) will be allowed o the premises after 7 pm.

On Tripadvisor the Axminster Inn has a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
