Axminster's Community Waffle House has offered a sneak peek at its new premises in Trinity House, which is set to open in November.

With just a few weeks until the popular community enterprise takes over the whole first floor of the landmark town centre building, the Waffle House team have shared photos of how the renovations, overseen by Axminster Property, are coming along on their Facebook page.

The Community Waffle House opened in West Street last April as a non-profit making community interest company. It has proved a huge success with every penny made going to help the needy of Axminster, especially the isolated and lonely.

But it closed doors at the end of September in preparation for its big move to Trinity House, with its new home being five times the size of its original premises.

As well as a cafe space serving the same delicious Belgian waffles, the new premises will include a children's play area and a work space offering an alternative to the office or working from home.

The Waffle House launched an crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising £20,000 to help with fitting out the new space. There are now 13 days left of the campaign, with just over £3,000 having already been raised.

On their Facebook page the team said: "Wow, 56 people have supported us so far and we are so grateful! Trinity House is starting to come together and it looks stunning! Massive thank you to the Axminster Property team."

The crowdfunding campaign will be running for the next 13 days and you can click here to donate or find out more.
