There's only a week left to get your fix of Belgian waffles before one of Axminster's most popular enterprises closes for a month in preparation for a major move.

The Community Waffle House will be closing doors at its West Street premises on Saturday, September 26 and will be reopening in the revamped Trinity House in November.

The Waffle House was opened in West Street last April as a non-profit-making community interest company and has been a huge success, with every penny made going to help the needy of Axminster, especially the isolated and lonely.

It is now preparing for a major expansion, taking on the whole first floor of Trinity House to provide more space to serve its delicious Belgian waffles, as well as a children's play area and workspace area, in particular to help those who have been working from home for a long time during lockdown.

But waffle fans better get their fix fast - the new Waffle House will not be opening until November as the refurbishment of Trinity House is still underway, so Axminster will have to go a whole month without their sweet treats!

The current Waffle House in West Street will continue to serve takeaways until Saturday, September 26.
