The Uplyme attack failed to break a match-winning partnership of 186 between opener Matt Taylor, who carried his bat for 145, an innings which included 16 fours and fur sixes, and number three James Brogue, who also hit a century (109).

The Uplyme bowlers toiled long and hard in the heat but failed to make an impact on Alphington's top order.
