Liz Fahey (67) lives in Beer with her husband. She is retired but she used to run her own property company which was based in Bristol. She has two sons and five grandchildren.

Over the past few weeks Liz has been receiving 'an awful lot' of leaflets through her front door and she is carefully considering who to vote for.

As she is retired and can't increase her income, Liz is worried about the rising cost-of-living and the price of electricity. She would like the government to do more to help her and others in a similar position.

"I was never a Boris [Johnson] fan, but I have voted Conservative in the past. I would consider myself a loyal Conservative supporter, but, for the very first time, I am very wavering.

"The Conservative government dealt with the pandemic in a reasonable way, but then Neil Parish, well! He was idiotic to even consider doing what he did. It just beggars belief. And that has made me seriously consider who I vote for, more than ever before."

On a recent holiday to France, Liz and her friends, who all live locally, spent a lot of time discussing the by-election and the different candidates: "This is the first time I have discussed local candidates with friends.

"We went on holiday and we chatted about the election a lot. we went through all the candidates, one by one, and their plusses and minuses. I've never done that before. I think people are really paying attention to this by-election. It will be interesting, and we shall see!"
