Latest figures show 74 crimes reported in Axminster area in July

Latest police figures have reported that there were 74 recorded crimes in the Axminster area in July 2021.

These figures have increased from 65 crimes the previous month and are relatively equal to the 75 crimes reported during the same month the previous year.

From the 74 recorded incidents in July 2021, 49 took place in Axminster Town and 25 in Axminster Rural, which also covers the villages of Uplyme, Kilmington, Hawkchurch, Dalwood, Stockland, Chardstock and surrounding areas.

In Axminster Town, crimes included 23 incidents of violence and sexual offences, 10 of anti-social behaviour, four of criminal damage and arson, and 12 listed as 'other crimes'.

In Axminster Rural, crimes included five of violence and sexual offences, four of anti-social behaviour, four drug-related incidents and 12 listed as 'other crimes'.

Crime figures for August 2021 have not yet been released.
