East Devon's young person's mental health support project, Headlight, has returned to face-to-face working following the easing of lockdown restrictions.

Headlight supports 13 to 24 year olds in three towns across East Devon – Axminster, Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary – but has had to replace its face-to-face support with an online and telephone service in recent months due to social distancing guidelines.

Following the latest easing of restrictions, it was able to return to face-to-face work, including peer support and facilitated group sessions as well as one to one support for young people.

Headlight's unique approach offers a combination service; young people gain support and encouragement through their peers, a trained, friendly and professional staff team, and from excellent volunteers, as well as one to one support from one of our mental health support workers.

"We work with young people to set goals and targets for themselves and gain tools in resilience and confidence," said Headlight manager Ben Feasey.

"I'm so happy that we are able to support young people in the way they want again, times have been hard for so many young people and we are eager to encourage anyone within our age range to come forward and get some help if they need it."

Groups are running on Mondays from 6pm to 7.30pm in Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary, and on Thursdays 6pm to 7.30pm in Axminster.

Referrals can be made in the usual way via an online form on the website actioneastdevon.org.uk
