Dalwood's annual duck race returned this weekend, raising more than £500 for Axminster Heritage.

The popular village event was unable to go ahead last year due to the coronavirus pandemic but was well supported on Saturday.

About 600 ducks were released into the river half a mile upstream and made their way to the finishing line just past the bridge in the centre of the village, helped along the way by the 'ticklers' equipped with broomsticks to ensure no duck was left behind.

Following the race, supporters enjoyed cream teas and a raffle in the village hall.
