No serious injuries in A35 accident

The A35 near Axminster was closed this morning following a serious accident.

The road was closed by police between Old Taunton Road at Shute and Studhayes Road, Kilmington.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 5.50am and the road reopened at 7.20am.

Police said that a van collided with a tree but there were no serious injuries.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 5.15am with reports a van had collided with a tree on the A35 near Axminster, leaving the road blocked. Officers and paramedics attended the scene."
